Teeth joints

Description

The gear coupling is a motion transmission device designed to connect two rotating shafts to transmit torque in a torsionally rigid manner and compensate for angular, parallel and axial misalignments. Furthermore, the gear coupling has the characteristic of not transmitting axial thrusts.

The toothed couplings are composed of:

  • a hub for the crankshaft with convex external teeth;
  • a hub for the driven shaft with crowned external teeth;
  • two flanged sleeves, both with internal teeth, joined with calibrated screws;
  • grease containment seals on both sides and grease nipple.

The elements that make up the joint are made of alloy steel which, for particularly demanding applications, are subjected to surface heat treatments to have greater resistance to wear.
